Join the fun in this peculiar parade!

A novilla is a heifer, and it is the main focus of this popular celebration held in the town of San Sebastián— a town on the west side of the island. Live bands perform everything from folk music to salsa, artisans and fried food vendors occupy the town square, and amusement park rides are set up. The pinnacle of the festival is the official parade, where a cow is decked out in a crown of flowers and leads a procession of floats through the town. This festival not only celebrates the history of agricultural practices of Puerto Ricans, but it also serves as a fundraiser for local scholarships.
