Discover Puerto Rico, in collaboration with the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel and Group Services LLC (GSI), hosted the 2025 SITE Texas Innovation and Tech Summit, an event that brought 32 buyers and 35 suppliers specializing in the incentive segment to the island, where they had the opportunity to see, learn about, and experience the destination over several days.
Discover Puerto Rico Hosts SITE Texas at Innovation and Technology Summit
SITE Texas offers top-level educational and networking events throughout the year. Its members represent a wide range of sectors within the meetings and incentives industry, including airlines, cruise lines, corporate buyers, destination management companies, ground transportation providers, hotels and resorts, among others.
The group was notable for including many professionals visiting the island for the first time, as well as others who rediscovered the destination after more than a decade away. This provided a valuable opportunity to present Puerto Rico’s updated offerings and highlight its strengths as an ideal destination for meetings and incentives.
Although SITE Texas specializes in the incentive market, the agenda included a visit to the Puerto Rico Convention Center, allowing attendees focused on trade shows and large-scale events to appreciate the venue’s size and capabilities. This experience was very well received by participants.
As part of the scheduled activities, the group also visited the T-Mobile District and Old San Juan. At the T-Mobile District, they enjoyed an immersive show that combined cutting-edge technology with Puerto Rican culture. The experience featured vibrant visuals, music, dancers, and the thrill of Toro Verde’s urban zipline, showcasing the venue’s technological capabilities.
The event was a resounding success, generating two promising opportunities for 2026 and 2027 that could represent approximately 1,120 room nights. This interest in the destination paves the way for new collaborations and future events, fostering growth in the incentive segment and strengthening tourism nationwide.
As part of their community commitment, the group also supported Paradise Rescue, a local organization dedicated to helping homeless dogs find loving homes. Through a raffle among its members, they raised over $6,000 to support the organization’s mission.
