Discover Puerto Rico Recognizes the Excellence of Hospitality Industry Members
In January, Discover Puerto Rico launched the Service Excellence Recognition Program, an initiative designed to recognize hospitality industry professionals who elevate the visitor experience and represent the best in service on the Island.
The program is open to all industry employees, regardless of position, role, or years of experience. Nominations will highlight individuals distinguished by their service excellence, authentic Puerto Rican hospitality, and the positive impact they create on the guest experience.
Evaluation will focus on service excellence and assess whether the nominee anticipates guest needs, resolves issues creatively, demonstrates warmth, empathy, and professionalism, highlights Puerto Rican culture and values, and creates a memorable impact on client programs.
Nominations will be submitted quarterly exclusively by meeting planners and clients through an official form provided by Discover Puerto Rico. At the end of the year, an annual winner will be selected to receive the Service Star Award along with public recognition.
The evaluation process will involve industry leaders and representatives from Discover Puerto Rico. To ensure the program's integrity, the selection process will be supported by a distinguished committee comprised of industry leaders, including: Clarisa Jiménez, President and CEO of the Puerto Rico Hotel and Tourism Association; Loisse Herger, President and CEO of Olive; Stanley Tapia, Director of the International School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts at Ana G. Méndez University; Jorge Pérez, Deputy Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company; Beth Bushman, National Sales Director for Discover Puerto Rico; and Vanessa Figueroa, Senior Director of Destination Experiences for Discover Puerto Rico.
With this new recognition program, Discover Puerto Rico reaffirms its commitment to fostering a culture of service excellence, enhancing the visitor experience, and continuing to position Puerto Rico as a world-class destination.
