GBTNetwork FAM Trip: Immersive Experience for International Travel Advisors
From November 19 to 22, 2025, Cristina Fernandes from Discover Puerto Rico’s Leisure Sales team hosted a group of eight travel advisors from GBTNetwork, in collaboration with Hilton. Participants stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn San Juan Condado and conducted multiple site inspections at iconic hotels including The Condado Plaza Hotel, La Concha Resort, Puerto Rico, Autograph Collection Hotel, Condado Vanderbilt Hotel, Caribe Hilton, Hotel El Convento, Palacio Provincial, San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, and Hotel Rumbao, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel by Marriott.
The itinerary also incorporated experiences that showcase the authenticity of the destination: a walking food tour through Old San Juan with Flavors of San Juan, a guided visit to El Yunque National Forest, and a mixology class at Ron del Barrilito. Advisors also enjoyed local cuisine at Azahar Modern Tasca, AQA Oceanfront at La Concha Resort, Arena Medalla at Distrito T-Mobile, and Santaella in La Placita de Santurce, ensuring a representative sample of Puerto Rican gastronomy and hospitality.
These types of FAM trips allow travel advisors to experience the destination firsthand, strengthening future recommendations and expanding business opportunities for the Island in strategic markets.
Meeting with Municipal Tourism Directors Strengthens Regional Collaboration
On Tuesday, December 2, Discover Puerto Rico held a gathering in Ponce with municipal tourism directors, aiming to further strengthen communication, collaboration, and regional alignment. During the meeting, ongoing initiatives were presented, and projects and developments that directly impact the Island’s tourism ecosystem were discussed, including events that help disperse visitors throughout Puerto Rico.
The exchange provided firsthand insight into the progress, challenges, and opportunities municipalities are facing, offering a broader understanding of their priorities and needs. This type of dialogue helps identify areas where support is needed, optimize joint efforts, and foster an integrated working network between municipal teams and Discover Puerto Rico.
These meetings strengthen the Island’s tourism infrastructure, promote collaborative strategic planning, and reinforce the collective commitment to economic and community development. Discover Puerto Rico thanks all directors for their participation and for the work they carry out daily in service of their communities and the destination.
