Puerto Rico Continues Strengthening Connections with Event Planners and International Travelers
Discover Puerto Rico continues to enhance the destination’s visibility and competitiveness through strategic experiences aimed at meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) planners, as well as tourism industry professionals in key international markets.
As part of these efforts, the recent MICE FAM Trip took place from April 26–29, bringing together 18 meeting planners who began their experience on the Island with an oceanfront reception at Wyndham Grand Rio Mar. The experience also featured participation from industry partners and properties including Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve, La Concha Resort, Condado Vanderbilt, Caribe Hilton, and Ritz-Carlton San Juan, showcasing the diversity of offerings available for groups and events in Puerto Rico.
During the itinerary, Discover Puerto Rico also introduced Ancestral by Hacienda Chocolat as a new group experience supplier in the eastern region, where attendees participated in an immersive chocolate and wine experience centered on local cacao production and sustainable tourism experiences. The program also included culinary and cultural tours through the cobblestone streets of Old San Juan, integrating history, local flavors, and networking opportunities among participants.
The FAM concluded by joining the Citywide FAM, expanding networking opportunities between meeting planners, hotels, venues, and local tourism industry partners. Participating properties and venues included Caribe Hilton, Aloft San Juan, Sheraton Puerto Rico, Distrito T-Mobile, Casa Bacardí, and the Puerto Rico Convention Center, among others.
In addition to activations held in Puerto Rico, the Discover Puerto Rico team continued representing the destination at strategic industry events in cities such as Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, and Madrid, strengthening relationships with travel advisors, event organizers, and international tourism industry leaders. Among the highlighted initiatives were Sports ETA Symposium 2026, HelmsBriscoe ABC, Cruise360, and an activation alongside Ávoris in Spain, where the “Awaken Your Senses” campaign was presented to more than 800 travel advisors.
These efforts continue positioning Puerto Rico as a competitive and dynamic destination, combining infrastructure, connectivity, and authentic experiences that strengthen interest among travelers and event organizers worldwide.
