Puerto Rico Maintains an Active Presence Across Key Tourism Markets
Maintaining a consistent presence in strategic markets is essential to keeping Puerto Rico top of mind among meeting planners, travel advisors, and industry organizations. As part of this effort, Discover Puerto Rico's Sales team conducted a series of events, meetings, and familiarization experiences to promote the destination and strengthen its presence across the MICE and Leisure segments.
Within the MICE segment, the team participated in key industry events across the United States, including the 3rd Annual NYPCMA vs. MPIGNY Softball Game in New York, where Discover Puerto Rico hosted a picnic in Central Park, and the PCMA Greater Philadelphia Networking Event, providing valuable opportunities to connect with industry professionals and maintain the destination's visibility in strategic markets.
Ahead of the PCMA Business Events Summit, Caribe Hilton welcomed a group of clients for a Pre-FAM experience, showcasing the property's amenities through wellness activities, a historic walking tour of Old San Juan, and other experiences leading up to the event.
From June 21–24, Puerto Rico hosted the PCMA Business Events Summit at El Conquistador Resort. The event welcomed approximately 700 attendees and featured several Discover Puerto Rico activations, including a Café Don Ruiz coffee experience, a VIP client dinner, and Pre- and Post-FAM programs for FICP and HPN clients.
The international agenda also included participation in the FICP Education Forum in Quebec, where Discover Puerto Rico joined El Conquistador Resort and Condado Collection to strengthen relationships with financial and insurance meeting planners while building momentum for the 2027 FICP Annual Meeting, which will be hosted in Puerto Rico. In addition, participation in the SITE Board of Trustees Meeting helped reinforce Puerto Rico's visibility and credibility within this important segment of the meetings industry.
Within the Leisure segment, the team participated in the Land & Travel Services Mixer, conducting 15 one-on-one appointments with luxury travel advisors, and attended PowerSolutions in Tampa, a tradeshow that brought together 160 travel advisors. The team also prepared for the Top Seller Orinter 2026 FAM Trip, which will bring 76 Brazilian travel advisors to Puerto Rico from July 7–11.
As part of the PCMA Business Events Summit, Discover Puerto Rico also supported off-site educational sessions at the Puerto Rico Convention Center, Casa Bacardí, El Portal de El Yunque, and the Antiguo Casino de Puerto Rico, in addition to a corporate social responsibility initiative at the Corredor Ecológico del Este and a Post-FAM program showcasing hotels and destination experiences.
Through these initiatives, Discover Puerto Rico continues to promote the Island in strategic markets, strengthen relationships with industry partners, and create new opportunities for growth across both the meetings and leisure sectors.
