Puerto Rico Strengthens Its International Presence and Releases 2024–2025 Annual Report
TravelSavers Elite Retreat
The TravelSavers Elite Retreat is an exclusive event that connects top-tier travel agencies with destinations and suppliers. From August 23 to 29, Cristina Fernandes from the Leisure Sales team represented Puerto Rico during this key gathering aboard a cruise ship. She conducted 15 one-on-one meetings, engaged in networking activities, and attended client dinners with 65 agencies from TravelSavers and NEST.
These interactions strengthened business relationships and expanded opportunities to continue positioning the Island in the leisure travel market.

International Activations Generate Broad Coverage
In addition to recent collaborations in Latin America and the United States, we highlight the Individual Trip held from March 28–31 with the participation of Armando Gamboa, Director of Telepacífico, one of Colombia’s most influential public television channels.
The itinerary included musical experiences in Santurce, a chinchorreo along the Ruta del Lechón in Cayey, and culinary tastings at local restaurants such as Dulcesalado, Furtivo Speakeasy, and Canvas. Armando described the trip as “incredible,” highlighting the quality of service and logistics.
As a direct result, Telepacífico broadcast three prime-time TV specials:
- Discovering Puerto Rico Through Its Music, focused on bomba and plena as cultural symbols
- Gastronomy in Puerto Rico: Tradition, Employment, and Tourism Appeal, highlighting African culinary roots
- Castillo San Felipe del Morro: History and Heritage in San Juan, Puerto Rico, emphasizing the historical and cultural value of the iconic landmark
This coverage, also amplified on Instagram and YouTube, reached an estimated earned media value of USD $750,000, making it the most comprehensive television exposure Puerto Rico has achieved in the Colombian market to date.
Puerto Rico Shines at Feria Avianca with Visa and W Radio
Johanna González, from the Leisure team, participated in Feria Avianca held in Bogotá, Colombia, in collaboration with Visa and W Radio. The event was a valuable opportunity to connect with travel advisors from agencies like Best Travel and Global Travel, both of which are actively promoting travel packages to Puerto Rico.
Johanna also had the chance to speak directly with consumers interested in visiting the Island and joined live radio interviews with W Radio and Tropicana, where she shared the unique experiences Puerto Rico has to offer.
Each interaction reinforced the growing interest in our destination within the Colombian market, and we look forward to welcoming more travelers from the region.
