Throughout May and early June, Discover Puerto Rico welcomed multiple groups of travel advisors and event executives who explored the Island’s cultural, culinary, and natural offerings—further strengthening the destination’s position in strategic markets and paving the way for new collaborations.
Puerto Rico Strengthens Key Relationships with International Travel Advisors and Event Executives
Exploring Puerto Rico with Haphiza’s Travel
Six travel advisors from Trinidad and Tobago experienced the magic of Puerto Rico during a familiarization trip organized by Discover Puerto Rico. From the charm of Old San Juan to the natural beauty of El Yunque and the energy of Distrito T-Mobile, the group explored the best of the Island. Their experience was complemented by stays at properties like Decanter, El Convento, Rumbao, and Fairfield Luquillo Beach, where they enjoyed authentic cuisine and Puerto Rican hospitality.
Puerto Rico at Caribbean Travel Marketplace
From May 19–21, Cristina Fernandes represented Discover Puerto Rico at the Caribbean Travel Marketplace held in Antigua and Barbuda. Over two days of business meetings, she connected with international wholesalers specialized in Caribbean travel. Hotels such as Wyndham Grand Río Mar, Wyndham Palmas del Mar, Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve, and Holiday Inn & El Tropical Casino Mayagüez also took part.
Puerto Rico Shines at ASTA Global Convention 2025
Johanna González returned to San Juan after active participation in the ASTA Global Convention in Salt Lake City. Her experience included a lunchtime presentation, a lively trade show featuring Puerto Rican coffee, and one-on-one meetings with advisors. She was joined by Karla Hernández (Wyndham) and Antonio Lozada (Verdanza), who helped strengthen the Island’s promotional efforts.
Discover Puerto Rico at CALA Summit
Cristina Fernandes took part in the CALA Discover the Caribbean & Latin America Travel Industry Summit in Riviera Maya, from May 27–30. She connected with over 50 luxury travel advisors through individual appointments, educational sessions, and shared experiences. Hotel partners such as Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, San Juan Marriott, and La Concha also attended.
FAM Trip with Cassis Travel Services and Puerto Rico Specialists
From June 1–6, Cristina Fernandes led a FAM trip with eight U.S.-based travel advisors who explored various regions of the Island. Staying at properties like San Juan Marriott, Aloft Ponce, Hyatt Place Manatí, and Wyndham Rio Mar, the group visited iconic hotels and participated in activities such as mixology classes, food tours, historical walks, and visits to haciendas and El Yunque National Forest.
Annual Meeting with HPN Global
From June 1–4, Mikki Walls and Yari Vassallo hosted HPN Global’s Vice Presidents of Global Accounts for an exclusive FAM trip. Many of the participants hadn’t visited the Island in over seven years. After experiencing the destination firsthand, they left with a renewed perspective of Puerto Rico to share with clients and peers in the HPN network.
