With the mission to continue promoting transformation and innovation in the business events industry, the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) will hold its annual event, PCMA edUcon 2026, in Puerto Rico.
The convention will take place from June 21 to 24, 2026, at El Conquistador Resort in Fajardo. The official announcement was made on June 3 in Louisville, Kentucky, during the 2025 edition of the event.
Each edition of edUcon brings together over 1,000 professionals and specialists in meetings and events, including experience designers and business event strategists from around the world. Additionally, the event is part of a global network of 8,400 leaders across 37 countries.
For the local industry, the event represents an invaluable opportunity for international exposure. The arrival of between 800 and 1,000 event planners will not only allow them to benefit from high-level educational sessions but also to establish strategic connections with potential clients, strengthen business relationships, and showcase the destination as a competitive hub for meetings tourism.
The PCMA edUcon 2026 agenda will integrate experiences that highlight Puerto Rico’s unique attributes, such as its cuisine, culture, music, and tourism infrastructure. The event will culminate with activities at the Coca-Cola Music Hall and the T-Mobile District, aiming to emphasize the value of the Convention District as a center for major international gatherings.
The hybrid format of edUcon, which combines educational sessions with social events and destination activities, together with Puerto Rico’s extensive tourism offerings as a destination, opens the door for many attendees to extend their stay on the island. This represents an additional opportunity for the tourism sector, as participants can bring their families and turn their business trip into a leisure experience, enjoying all that Puerto Rico has to offer.
Discover Puerto Rico, together with Group Services LLC (GSI), will be responsible for making the event possible on the island.
With this announcement, Puerto Rico joins cities like Phoenix, New Orleans, Quebec, Detroit, and Louisville as hosts of one of the most important events in the business events industry, reaffirming confidence in the destination’s infrastructure and hospitality.
