The past few weeks have been packed with events for Discover Puerto Rico. Our CEO, Jorge L. Pérez, shared his vision for our organization at multiple events, which we used to integrate business leaders with the promotion of the destination.
From the SME Marketing Summit to the World Baseball Classic
SME Marketing Summit
In mid-October, Jorge L. Pérez (CEO) participated in the SME Marketing Summit on October 23 in San Juan. There, the executive spoke about his experiences as administrator of the Choliseo, the Convention Center, the Coca-Cola Music Hall, and the Old Casino. He also reviewed Discover Puerto Rico's most recent promotions and the development of values-based strategies.
NexoSur 2025
The action moved to Ponce on October 24. That day, Pérez addressed the business leaders gathered at the NexoSur 2025 convention of the Southern Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce. The speech focused on reviewing the development of tourism in recent years, Discover Puerto Rico's new goals, and the ideas that will guide the promotion of the destination.
World Baseball Classic
On October 28, we participated in the press conference officially announcing Puerto Rico's selection as one of the host cities for the first round of the World Baseball Classic. From March 5 to 17, Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan will be the venue for the games featuring teams from Puerto Rico, Cuba, Canada, Panama, and Colombia. This is one of the key events expected to boost tourism in Puerto Rico in 2026.
Puerto Rico Mayors Summit
This meeting, held in Fajardo and organized by the Federation of Mayors, showcased Discover Puerto Rico's efforts to integrate all municipalities into the destination's marketing strategy. Pérez participated in a special session on tourism in Puerto Rico and used the opportunity to strengthen ties with the municipal leaders.
Causa Local
On November 4, Pérez participated in a special event organized by the organization Causa Local in Puerto Rico. That evening, Pérez joined other local executives who shared some of the mistakes they had made in their professional development and the lessons they learned from overcoming them. While events like these typically focus on sharing success stories, this one aimed to impart lessons learned from difficult situations to young entrepreneurs.
Conversemos Visits Vega Baja
Around thirty business owners arrived on November 5th at the former Lions Club in Vega Baja to attend the Discover Puerto Rico's "Conversemos" event. This program aims to guide business owners on destination promotion, digital marketing strategies, and the services our organization offers to the business community. There, a dozen business owners created their business profile at DiscoverPuertoRico.com and enrolled in the La IDEA program, which offers mentorship on how to market their products to visiting tourists.
