Currently, the San Juan National Historical Site and El Yunque National Forest are affected due to the ongoing U.S. Federal Government Shutdown.
We encourage all visitors to federally managed parks and forests within Puerto Rico to refer to the appropriate agencies for updates on operations and changes in hours of service:
- San Juan National Historic Site (U.S. National Park Service)
- El Yunque National Forest (U.S. Forest Service)
Puerto Rico has a highly developed tourism infrastructure and remains open for travelers. Visitors can enjoy a vast variety of natural beauty across the Island, including three of the world’s five bioluminescent bays, the longest zipline in the Americas and many more unique outdoor activities for all explorers.
Additionally, all airports across the Island, including the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) are fully operational, and the travel experience remains consistent by the status of the U.S. Federal Government. Key federal services essential for flight operations are exempt from the shutdown.
We continue to follow developments around the shutdown to ensure those visiting the Island have the information they need to have a safe and enjoyable time while in Puerto Rico.
